The world is full of corruption, and yes, this includes US politicians. They are after their own interests and the interests of those who pay the highest dollar amount to keep them in office. Unfortunately, it's not the average taxpayer with his or her vote who can afford these politicians; it's the lobbyists for the special interest groups of which the Israeli lobbyists happen to be among the biggest contributors, thus the most influential. Arab-Americans need to buy themselves more influence on American politics by getting out of the ‘faceless’ phase that seems to be where the majority prefer to be, and raise public awareness of the Arab and Muslim cultures through TV programming and interviews, internet blogs and chat rooms, and to fight back the negative stereotypes that are constantly being portrayed. But most of all, Arab and Muslim Americans need the backup of some of the many deep pockets in the Arab-American community and in Muslim and Arab countries abroad.
