Gaddafi, Israel and the US !

17 03 2011

Muammar Gaddafi went on radio few days ago, threatening no mercy for the pro-democracy residence of Benghazi . In the last few days, Muammar and his son Seif El-Islam feel energized again after making some gains on the grounds during the last 10 days. Thanks to President Sarkozy and France, the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for a “No Fly Zone” and taking a measures to protect the lives of civilians in Libya. Though the Obama Administration was too keen on the no fly zone, for reasons that became clear it took a back seat, with a wait and see attitude, until Gaddafi was able to win the battle against his own people with ready and final assault on the city of Benghazi. France persistence finally paid off, finally the Obama Administration was allowed to vote on the USSC resolution 1973. It is too late for all those killed and murdered by Gaddafi, and the hope that his days as leader of Libya are numbered. Read the rest of this entry »

Israel and milking America.

8 03 2011

Ehud Barak, the Israeli defense minister in Bibi Netanyahu’s government announced to the Wall Street Journal that Israel would seek $ 20 Billions in upgrade for its already existing $3.2 Billions annual defense grants. It seems the Arab winds of freedom and democracy is another chance for Israel to milk the US cow for more money. That should not be a big problem since the US Congress with its Republican leadership and with some one like Eric Cantor representing Tel-Aviv and not Richmond, VA in the American Knesset West will surely help in this regard. If the toppling of dictatorships in Tunisia and Egypt is worth $20 Billions for Israel, one has to wonder what the price the US has to pay Israel for a regime change in Libya, Yemen, or Syria? Ramallah’s desperate leadership.

5 03 2011

I was prompted to write this from a news article that appeared in today’s Alquds Alarabi reporting on a current visit to Paris by Dr. Nabil Sha’ath, Fatah chair of the foreign relation committee. Dr. Sha’ath is urging France to recognize the state of Palestine along 67 borders as a way to end and preempt Israel’s claim that the “territories” are “disputed”. It seems Saeb Eurekat “Kabeer” negotiator was not keeping every one informed and updated on his successes, that Israel simply refused to budge from its position it took in Oslo that the territories are disputed and not occupied. Mahmoud Abbas should throw the keys of the “Occupation” at the White House.

21 02 2011

The message from President Obama and Secretary Clinton to Mahmoud Abbas and Ramallah leadership is very clear. Mahmoud Abbas message to the US should also be equally clear. Mahmoud Abbas should travel to New York address the UN General Assembly and Security Council and announce the disbanding of the PLO/PA and declaring Oslo Accord as “null and void”, and throw the keys of the Occupation at the White House. The US casting its standard “Veto” at the UN Security Council should not come as a big surprise to the Ramallah leadership and other Arab countries long advocates and supporters of the US sponsored “no-peace” process. There is no peace, there is no process there is only Occupation and the ever present US “Veto”. For God sake disband the PLO/PA as enablers of the Occupation and as the legal and contractual party with the Israeli Occupation. Read the rest of this entry »

Take the US out of the “no peace” process.

“ We had some success, at least for the moment, in not having that (resolution) arise there. And we will continue to employ the tools we have to make sure that continues to not happen” with these words Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg assured Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, perhaps the most anti-Arab, anti-Muslim and staunchest supporter of Israel and Zionist causes in Congress. Steinberg was referring to the Ramallah leadership efforts to bring the issue of Jewish settlements before the UN Security Council. Read the rest of this entry »

Gaza Operation Hope; Open Gaza Port Now.

9 02 2011

I am sure the Americans and the Europeans will be very pleased if Abbas of Ramallah and Haniyeh of Gaza announced to the world their willingness to entrust the management and operation including security for the Port of Gaza to the Americans and NATO. Let America manage and operate the port making sure only constructions materials, food suppliers and consumers goods comes through the port. Let American and the European break the siege of Gaza and end once and for all the Israeli Occupation of Gaza that has lasted some 42 years. Read the rest of this entry »
