When I first arrived in the US back in 1962 as an immigrant, my oldest brother Nabil was undergoing basic training at Ft. Bragg, NC, he was to stay there extra few months for his jump training. Nabil left to Columbia, South America back in 53 and a year later my father was able to get an immigrant visa to the US and Nabil joined my later father in 58. It was in 62 that I first met my brother Nabil since his departure in 53. Within couple of weeks of arriving home back in Gary, Indiana Nabil was on his way to Fairbanks, Alaska were he stayed for 18 months. Read the rest of this entry »

How America lost its moral and ethical compass.
The Occupy Wall Street movement should not have come as a surprise to official America and to Main Street. To be effective the movement has to move and seek the support and active involvement of Main Street. More than ever there is a need for Main Street America to take the helm and take charge of both Wall Street and Congress. Given the dire situation the US and “We the People” are in and face, due to inaction and failings on the part of the US Congress, may be it is the Right/Left and Conservative/Liberal thing to do is to ask Congress to pass a special amendment to the US Constitution that allows the American people to vote for or have Congress appoint the Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu as president of the United States. Though I believe as a matter of absolute constitutional rights, Imam Faisal Abul-Rauf have every right to build his “Islamic Center” in lower Manhattan near Ground Zero and I also think it is a waste of time for Imam Abul-Rauf or Imam Muhammad Musri of the Islamic Society of South Florida to give any attention or importance to the small time, Gainesville pastor Terry Jones. Personally, I think America specially New York City needs an “Islamic Hospital” much more than “Islamic Centers”, a hospital dedicated to serving the poor of NYC and dedicated to the memory of all those who perished in the terrorists attack on September 11th and dedicated to the thousands of firemen and policemen who risked their lives in the aftermath.
