In my hotel room in Verona, Italy, I was up until 5 am nervously waiting for the election results to come through on CNN. Yes, I was confident that Barack Obama will win the election, yet, for some reasons, I was nervous to the end like so many millions of Americans. I guess after many years of unethical and unscrupulous right wing politics that managed to put George Bush in the White House the first time around, I had reasons to worry. The television pictures of Barack Obama at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem truly reflects Barack Obama predicament with the American Jewish voters mainly the die hard Zionists in America both the Jews and Evangelical Christians. At one time and for a long time, I always believed in the possibility of peace between Israel and the Palestinians based on a two state solution along the 67 borders with Jerusalem as a shared and open city. No more.
