Last week suicide bombing in Baghdad carried out by two mentally retarded women recruiting by Alqueda killing more than 90 innocent people and the suicide bombing in the Israeli town of Dimona that killed one Israeli woman is nothing but simple acts of terror and murder. Killing and murdering innocent people is simple murder whether the victims are Iraqi Sunnis, or Shiites or Israeli Jews or Palestinians in Gaza and Nablus.

If we Muslims from Indonesia to Morocco do not admit and recognize suicide bombings as simple acts of terror and murder then there is something seriously wrong with us. Either we are mentally sick or morally corrupt. No one, and I mean no Muslim or Arab should ever accept suicide bombings as acts of liberation or acts of martyrdom but acts of terror and murder.

This may not fit well with main stream media in the Arab or Muslim world that continue to refer to Palestinian suicide bombing against Israel as act of freedom fights, martyrdom and liberation. Wrong. Suicide bombing is nothing but an act of terror and cold blooded murder. To win the war against terrorism we have to start at home, and to do that main stream media has to change its language and refer to these acts taking place in Occupied Palestine or in Occupied Iraq or Occupied Afghanistan as simple acts of terror and murder.

There must not be “but, or if, because” there must never be a reason or exception or execuse to the rule that killing innocent people is a simple act or murder and terror. Taking on soldiers is one thing, blowing up buses, or restaurants or shopping centers or mosques or popular markets are not acts of liberation and are not acts of courage but acts of murder that must not be celebrated by the families of the murderers and killers and must be condemned by all decent and moral people. By no means I am denying the Palestinian people the right to fight the occupation, but fighting Israeli soldiers and armed settlers is one thing, killing innocent people in shopping centers or restaurants or buses is not fighting the enemy.

The Palestinian people lost much of the moral high ground when they reverted to suicide bombing killing Israeli civilians in buses, restaurants and shops. No one in the world could ever deny the Palestinian people the right to fight and resists the armed Israeli occupation that lasted 40 years.  Notwithstanding the silence of the world to the daily killings of innocent Palestinians, we  Muslims could not and must never accept the killing of innocent people even if these people are Israeli Jews, in the same way we want the Israelis and the world not to accept the killings of innocent Palestinians people by Israel. If the Palestinians want the world to call Israeli killing of innocent and unarmed Palestinians a murder then, the Palestinians must also make a clear distinction between fighting members of the IDF and the armed settlers and killing of Israeli civilians.

I understand that some Palestinians will say, but then all Israelis are armed and all are members of the IDF. That is not true. There is clear distinction between armed soldiers in uniform, or in civilian clothing and Israeli citizens who are not carrying weapons and who are not engaged in the killing and murder of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories. All members of the IDF and all armed settlers in the Occupied Territories and who are engaged in war against the Palestinian people are at risk. This is the nature of war and nature of occupation. Suicide bombing and killing of civilians is murder

No civilians whether Israeli or Palestinians should expect to be killed in their homes or in their shops or schools by members of the IDF or members of the Palestinian resistance. Never understand why the Palestinians continue to insist on armed resistance to the Israeli Occupation even though it has proved and for a long time ineffective and without much headway. Palestine is not Vietnam and is not Nicaragua. Smart leadership should make a decision on what is the best course of action to fighting the Israeli armed occupation. The leadership is fooling the people in trying to get them to believe that armed resistance with few thousands carrying an M-16 or using these useless stupid rockets could end the Israeli Occupation.

Too bad the Palestinian people do not have the quality leadership with vision that South Africa or India had in their fight against the British occupation and the White Apartheid. Perhaps it is time for the leadership and the people to think of smart, new and innovative way to fight and end the Israeli Occupation. Time for a massive civil uprising that continues days in and days out until the Israeli are forced to quit and end the occupation. I do not think that peace negotiation will end the Occupation and I do not think the armed resistance will end the Occupation. The Israelis and beyond them the US have to understand that 4.5 million people are fed up with the occupation, fed up with the Apartheid Wall, are fed up with hundreds of checkpoints, fed up with confiscation of land and most of all fed up with the leadership that is negotiating with Israel and are fed up with the leadership that makes armed resistance the only choice. There is an urgent need for a new leadership to emerge and lead to liberation using popular unarmed uprising as the only way to end the Occupation.

It is time also to admit that suicide bombing is morally wrong, and is useless and leads to nothing but disaster and more killings. Time also for main stream media to stop referring to suicide bombing against Israelis as “acts of martyrdom” but murder, and time to stop celebrating the life and death of killers and murderers who carried out these suicide bombing. Martyrdom is not suicide bombings.
