From Wall Street to Hollywood, from Shaker Heights to Miami, from The Wall Street Journal to Fox News, committed Zionists are working very hard to make this election an election about Israel and its agenda of going to war with Iran.
Watching the Ohio Debate few days ago, Obama and Clinton were pushed very hard to announce their commitment and loyalty to Israel, confirming the centrality of Israel in all US presidential and senatorial elections for the last 30 some years.
No presidential or senatorial candidate can escape this litmus test. All candidates must announce their undivided loyalty and commitment to Israel as an entry way to the White House and US Capital. Election money and the media always make loyalty to Israel a must.
McCain the expected standard bearers for the Republican Party is already committed to wage a 100 year war against the Muslim and the Arab world and is expected to committed going to war on Iran as a condition for improving his chances for winning the elections.
Jewish and Zionist voters are divided among themselves with a strong tug of war between those supporting Clinton and those supporting Obama. Both candidates and as expected will seek out the testimony of Jewish activists within the Democratic Party as they seek support from the very active Jewish votes.
The US Jewish community, the richest and most educated “ethnic” community in the US is also the most active in raising funds for elections and with the highest voter turn out among all ethnic groups. With money and votes, presidential candidates and as expected must heed to these votes and must announce their commitment to Israel as expected since Israel and support for Israel is always a central issue among Jewish voters.
However presidential candidates are also hard pressed to address the concerns of all 50 states and not only the concerns of Israel the 51st State. Presidential candidates must address issues of great concerns to voters concern with jobs, with affordable health care, affordable education, and of course affordable housing and the efforts to save them from going down the drain as planned by the greedy executives of Wall Streets.
Of course terrorism and fighting international terrorism is of great concern to many Americans who saw George Bush and his War on Iraq giving new impetus and support for Alqaeda around the world. The hundreds of billions spent by our Home Land Security did not make us fee more safe, Yes, it did create a windfall for many of the so called “security experts” and “security corporations” but average citizens do not feel the difference. It seems the level of fear rises as the administration pushed for additional contracts to its friends. Alqaeda was not in Iraq until George Bush and his circle of “Friends of Israel” decided to invite them into Iraq.
I doubt very much if the War on Iran as Israel and its friends in the US are pushing for is a priority for the majority of Americans. The American people can be fooled once, but not twice. They know by now that Bush and his Republican Party and McCain and his Republican Party could not rally the voters and in the presidential elections with their war rallies. It is doubtful in Americans are willing to commit to another 100 years of war as McCain is pushing for. And I doubt if the majority of Americans are willing to go to war with Iran for an on behalf of Israel as Clinton is committed to. Both McCain and Clinton forgot that our first international priority is to fight Alqaeda and the Talibans and win the war on terror not fight Iran to give Israel control over the entire Middle East.
Yes, Israel is of concern to America, but not the only concern. Yes, Israel is of concern to the Jewish votes, but the Jewish vote is not the votes of the rest of the country. Yes, Israel is important to the Christian Evangelicals as they seek to redeem their souls and generate some cash while at, but these are not the only voters in the US. Yes, Israel is important to the US because the media and the money in elections make it important, but the American public has other priorities. Mississippi, Texas, Vermont and Michigan have different priorities from those of Israel. Why presidential candidates are not asked about those states and what they plan to do for those states and are only asked about Israel and what they can do for Israel.
Israel and Israel’s agenda is important to a very important segment of the US population but this population is not representative of the entire USA. I am sure citizens of the Hills of Tennessee or Kentucky do not have Israel in mind when they go and vote for presidential candidates. I am sure unemployed workers in Youngstown, Ohio do not have Israel in mind when they go to vote on Tuesday. I am sure the votes in Wyoming do not have Israel in mind when they vote in presidential elections. Yes Israel is important but it is not more important that the other 50 states. Israel and its supporters have to wait their turn as presidential candidates speak for the rest of America and its priorities. The 51st state will have to wait to its turn and not jump ahead of the lines before New York, Indiana Missouri, Alabama, and Michigan. The priorities of these states are not the War on Iran.
