Thanks. I think peace could have been achieved long time ago. I do think that the arrogance and denial of Israelis and Zionists made it almost impossible for peace to take place. One has to read the comments on Haaretz Talback to see the arrogance and denials of most if not all respondents. They deny the Palestinians have rights in Palestine. They deny the responsibilty for the exile. They deny the rights of Palestinians to their homes and properties in Palestine while demanding the full recovery of Jewish properties all around the world. They simply could do nothing wrong. The perfect people. The majority of Palestinians have accepted Israel as a fact, but Israel within 67 borders and a shared open Jerusalem. Arafat and the PLO fully recongnized Israel with its open flexible far reaching borders. Israel never accepted a Palestinian state within historical Palestine. While the Likud always were against Oslo and never recognized a Palestinian state, Israel, the US and Egypt insisting on Hamas recongizing the right of Israel. If this is the case why not also ask Likud and Israel National Party to do the same why only Hamas as a party must recongnized Israel. Moreover I think all US administrations succumbed to pressure from Zionists to stand in way of peace. The US as much as Israel is responsible for lack of peace. I think that peace will put the Jewish lobby out of buisness in the US. What would be the mission of AIPAC after peace? How can they blackmail Congress to give money to Israel? But with all of this there is hope not for a two state solution but for one state for Jews and Arabs. The US and Israel have always worked toward a two state solution, one is Israel and the other is the Jewish Settler State of Judea and Samaria.

Funny article about a serious and not so funny military occupation. The answer to this article dove tails into Carter's peace process.

The upcoming Israeli generations will regret the fact that they rejected President Carter's peaceful efforts to bridge the gap between the Israelis and the party that represents the majority support of the Palestinians people-Hamas. The Israelis should look forward, long range vision is needed. Remember that the Palestinians and the Arabs don't need Israel, but the Israelis couldn't peacefully sleep for over 60 years. The Israelis should comprehend the painful reality that they can't live without the Palestinians and the price of peace today is cheaper than the price of peace tomorrow. The Palestinians people will remain there and they will never fade away. How long can the Israeli people live this life of insecurity and uncertainty. Military superiority doesn't bring a permanent stability and peace, it only creates a military challenge from the other side. Read the demography, ethnicity, diversities, the population growth in Israel and the surrounding and you will know exactly what I am talking about. Certainly, time is on the side of the Palestinians. Israelis should exploit any opportunity. And surely they should appreciate President Carter's efforts for serious Hamas-Israeli peaceful negotiations to permanently solve this perplexed and bloody conflict. Think before you sink, don't be stubborn..open your eyes and look forward, straightward, and upward to know what kind of climate you are going to confront in the story windy days of tomorrow. This is only a serious hint for a rational, not an illusionist, and not a sick in mind Israeli strategist to consider.
