Watching the news last night of Gaza in the dark makes me sick. I am sick of the Israeli leadership that does not hesitate to show their criminal behavior and racism, which runs deep in their blood, to gain favor with their people. I sick of the Palestinian leadership in both Gaza and Ramallah that is unable to live up to its responsibilities toward more than 4.5 millions under occupation. Yes the Israeli Army and Settler did leave Gaza, but Gaza remained occupied by Israel since Israel exercise control and access to air, land and sea. Read the rest of this entry »

George Bush historic visit to Israel and his commitment to the security of Israel while not even mentioning ending the occupation is a telling where this visit is leading to, war on Iran. Both Israel and the US see the only major issue and conflict in the Middle East is Iran threat to Israel but not Israel’s Occupation and never the threat Israel has posed during the last 60 years. I am afraid that Israel will convince George Bush that war on Iran is in Israel national interests in the same way it convinced George Bush through its agents within the American administration that the war on Iraq is in Israel’s best interest, of course paid for with American blood and money. At one time and for a long time, I always believed in the possibility of peace between Israel and the Palestinians based on a two state solution along the 67 borders with Jerusalem as a shared and open city. No more.

Like Arafat on his first historic visit to the Court of St. James, who missed the opportunity to addressed the wrongs committed by Great Britain against the Palestinians and its full responsibility for the Balfour Declaration as the root of the conflict that exiled the Palestinians and contributed to the death of several hundred thousands not to mention the more than 4 million exiles. The decision by the Arab foreign ministers to attend the Annapolis conference was the first Israel victory according to Zvi Ba’rel of Haaretz. Protestors on both side of the conflict are massing in apposition to the conference, which changed from a conference to settle the conflict to a conference to start a peace process that may take 100 years or so. Even with all of the protest and premature claims of victory there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a conference where all issues are put on the table and where US honesty and integrity if not partiality is put to the test.
