Any one who thinks the PLO remains the “sole and legitimate” representative of the Palestinians people should think twice, that Mahmoud Abbas is the President of Palestine, that Mishal is a good competent leader, needs to check into the nearest mental hospital.The effective silence of the PLO/PA/Fatah leadership as Israel continues with its onslaught and massacres of the people and destruction of Gaza is another confirmation that the PLO not now but many years ago, even during the heydays of Yasser Arafat was nothing about liberation but everything about the business of occupation.
20 days of consistent bombardments of any thing and every thing in Gaza by Israel with all of the weapons America could muster did not warrant hardly any statements from those in Ramallah who made the “peace process” a way of life, a way for them toward retirements. The best thing that Mahmoud Abbas and his cohorts in Ramallah could say is to call on Hamas to accept without conditions the Egyptian Proposal which does not address the issue of the Israeli war on Gaza and the total siege and imprisonment of some 1.5 million. The Egyptian Plan is nothing but an appeasement of the criminal state of Israel. How can any country let alone an Arab country accept equating Hamas with Israel? There is something morally and politically wrong with both Abbas and his mentor Mubarak as they sit in silence watching the numbers of dead and wounded climb-up and up and Gaza is totally destroyed by the peace partner of Mahmoud Abbas.
I have to admit that I was never a supporter of the PLO and Fatah or the other “fasael” and I always knew that the PLO and all of its “institutions” are nothing more than big fraud, a ponzi scheme. It did not take much to convince me after my first encounter with the PLO executives back in 74 during the visit of Yasser Arafat to New York.
One only needs to follow the history of the PLO and its main stay Fatah to see that these two organizations are nothing but a total failure at least when it came to the Israeli Occupation. On the other fronts, especially on the business front “liberation” was,is ,and will always remains a big business, a financial windfall. Not only this leadership of Arafat, Abbas and Qurai wasted and stole billions of dollars all these years, with the biggest windfall to Arafat and his crones within the PLO came with the signing of the Oslo Accord. Oslo made the PLO, Fatah official and legal partners to the Jewish Occupation.
Under Oslo, Arafat and the PLO not only snuffed the First Intifada which was the first, perhaps the last serious efforts and attempts at liberation. Arafat and the PLO deliberately undermined the First Intifada and rode it to Oslo, where the PLO and Arafat become the subcontractor for the Israeli Occupation and took over all civil and security functions, for and on behalf of the Israeli Occupation Army under lucrative financial terms. Under Oslo the PLO took over running and managing the Jewish Occupation while Israel kept its actual role of stealing, robbing, destroying, ethnic cleansing, expanding settlement, stealing water and confiscations of land not to mention the arrest and imprisonment of hundreds of thousands since Oslo and keeping over 500 security checkpoints, making life absolute hell for the millions while Fatah and PLO VIP’s enjoying the good life under the occupation. Oslo Accord is a financial contract between the PLO and Israel. Under Oslo Israel shifted the costs of the civil and security operation of the Jewish Occupation to the PLO thus making the PLO in reality the second largest financial contributor to the Jewish Occupation after the US.
For over 15 years, we have heard Arafat, Abbas, Qurai, Abed Rabbou, Abu-Rudaina, Saeb Eurikat and all of the senior members of the PLO/Fatah talk about the “peace process” a process that was going no where, only allowing Israel to expand its presence in the West Bank and Jerusalem under the very nose of PLO and Fatah and their peace partner.
If the Palestinians have any sense of honor and any sense of self respect they will file charges of treason against Abbas and all of the senior executives of the PLO/Fatah for their role as criminal partners with the Israeli Occupation. True this may be strong language but the facts do support the claim and the charge. The Palestinian Authority for all practical purposes is a partner in and enabler of the occupation.
As for Hamas, I think the leadership made a terrible and fatal mistake when it decided to run in an election under Oslo knowing well that a Palestinian Authority government is essentially nothing more than a subcontractor and a manger for the Israeli Occupation. Hamas could not be a liberation organization and at the same time a manager for the Jewish Occupation. Winning the election put Hamas under an ideological and practical predicament. On the one hand it must act as a government of, for and on behalf of the Jewish Occupation just like Fatah did for many years. On the other hand, it did not have a comprehensive plan for liberation knowing that armed resistance at least with primitive means was not an effective tool. The extensive use of suicide bombing was morally, ethically and legally wrong and was the straw that broke the camel’s back with the rest of the world. Hamas is not the Jewish Irgun; Hamas is not the Jewish Haganah. The others as Jewish terrorists, can kill and murder and get away with it, but not Hamas an “Islamic” organization, especially if the victims are Jews. Hamas should have understood that America and Europe can tolerate and even accept the death and murders of Palestinians and Arabs by the hundreds and thousands but not the death of a single Israeli or American Jew. America and Europe can tolerate Jewish terrorism directed against Palestinians and Arabs but not Arab or Muslim terrorism against Israel and Jews.
It is too bad Hamas did not have the political and ideological sophistication and maturity to see the writings on the wall. That Fatah and the PLO will not allow Hamas to undermine the business both have with Israel and will not allow a different party to come in-between Israel and the PLO. Managing the Jewish Occupation is exclusively the role and job of PLO and Fatah. Oslo is not a contract between Hamas and Israeli, Oslo is a contract between PLO/Fatah and Israel. Neither Israel nor Fatah were about to change partners and allow Hamas to come in between them.
Again and in my own mind, if the Palestinians under Israeli Occupation in the West Bank, in occupied Jerusalem, under attack in Gaza, and in the Diaspora if all have any sense of loyalty and love Palestine, they will demand the immediate resignation of All present leadership, PLO, Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Popular Front, Democratic Front, and Sha’ab and demand Abbas hand over the keys of his offices to his bosses in Tel-Aviv and dismantle his contracting business with Israel. Simply there is no time to waste and this leadership has to go. However without waving the rights to put the PLO and Fatah leadership on trial. We as people could not afford another 60 years of failure and excuses. Never understood with so many bright and intelligent and brilliant Palestinians around the world we have to put with a leadership that is absolutely reckless, incompetent, corrupt and failed leadership.
As for the criminal State of Israel, its leaders will one day face war crimes just like their mentors the Nazis. The US for the sake of its own people must stop supporting the criminal Jewish state of Israel.
