Sayyed Nasrallah, you are wrong, very very wrong to call for the support of a criminal repressive regime of Bashar el-Assad. Too bad you have joined many of the so-called “Arab nationalists” who not only failed to speak up against the Syrian regime and its killing fields but also remained silent. I wished you had remained silent. Read the rest of this entry »

Every May, there are two rolling thundering groups that descend on Washington Dc, the nation capital. There is the Rolling Thunder, the Veterans group, loyal Americans honoring their comrades in arms and reminding the nation of its son and daughters who took up the call to serve the nation. Then there is the other group, the American Jewish Holy Worriers, AIPAC, Israeli loyalists coming to Washington to intimidate the nation, its president and its Congress. A stark difference of two rolling thundering groups. Read the rest of this entry »

Given the dire situation the US and “We the People” are in and face, due to inaction and failings on the part of the US Congress, may be it is the Right/Left and Conservative/Liberal thing to do is to ask Congress to pass a special amendment to the US Constitution that allows the American people to vote for or have Congress appoint the Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu as president of the United States. The Arabs and specially the Palestinians should not hold their breath in anticipations of the scheduled speech President Barack Obama plans to give today, Thursday. When it comes to the Middle East, Mr. Obama does not formulate the policy, it is dictated to him as the case with previous presidents. Nothing will change in Washington unless there is powerful public movement to yank the power of AIPAC and the American Jewish leadership and community and give it back to the American people where it belong. For the brief few hours of the early fights on the Golan Heights in 73, the Syrian Arab Army simply disappeared, gone into “mothball” and comes out only when needed to crush “Arab” citizens and bomb “Arab” towns. Having secured the northern borders with Israel, it is not used for the defense of the country, but keeps the Ba’athist regime of Bachar Assad in business and power.
We saw the Syrian Arab Army roll into Lebanon to take sides in the Civil War and quash the “nationalist forces” and of course to remain in Lebanon for 29 years until it was forced to pull out in shame and in disgrace in February 2005 shortly after the murder of the late Prime Minister Rafik Harriri.
